Miley Cyrus just released this video where she is acting like a baby

Melanie Martinez built up her whole image as a baby/toddler/doll

even FKA Twigs is acting like a doll

I think we’re supposed to be like “Oh, it’s a feminist statement juxtopositioning the obvious depth of the performer against the general stereotypes about women” but we are what we pretend to be and in my opinion this is actually really bad for the image of women, just perpetuating infantilization.

My question is, as society ascends, will we see women “grow up” in the public eye? Will they soon embody teenagers again, like Gwen Stefanie did in the 90s? Then will we evere see women become women as a trend? IF so, what would that look like? Ideas of femininity are so tied to helplessness and youth, I wonder what the best way for any media creator is to solve this issue.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, I love the idea of being able to become a living doll! ♥

Art piece I did in High School commenting on how women are supposed to be like dolls.
